The first ski resort in The Principality of Andorra opened in 1957. It was a simple ski lift in Pas de la Casa powered by a lorry engine. Today with a total of 110 ski lifts, Andorra offers 303 km of slopes and 15 km of cross country skiing. Not too bad for a small country of only 468km2.
The Andorra skiing season usually starts early December and ends mid April. High mountains combined with a Mediterranean climate are the ingredients for abundant snow and many days of sunshine. The perfect conditions for an ideal ski holiday.
There are two large alpine ski resorts: GranValira and Vallnord and one cross country ski area: Naturlandia. Equipped with top of the line facilities, they offer unforgettable skiing, snowboarding and other winter activities.
